The Youth Leader Card (JuLeiCa)
It will not be accepted by any cash dispenser, the health insurance did not issue it and it will not authorize you to drive a car. However this colourful card is to be found in more than 100.000 wallets: the youth leader card short JuLeiCa.
It is the proof of the aquired qualification and the activity as a youth leader. The proud owners of the JuLeiCa have completed a qualified education. They for instance learned about processes in groups, legal aspects of obligatory supervision, the lifespan of youth and different methods of composing teamwork.
They are involved on honorary basis and in their leisure time as they lead youth groups, team holiday camps and seminars or are actively involved in other fields of youth work normally without getting a single cent for it. The JuLeiCa is also serving as a proof of legitimation to public authorities, youth welfare service, youth welfare offices, police or consulates.
So if there is an emergency during holiday camps it is good to have the JuLeiCa with you. It proves the qualification of the youth leader and is linking the whole group to a organizational connection.
It can and it should be even more. As a thanks for the social engagement JuLeiCa-holders should get special benefits: free entry to swimming pools, discounts in arts supply stores, cheaper entry to cinemas... the collection of ideas could be continued indefinitetly.
Personnel of youth work who are working on honorary basis (in terms of § 73 children and youth service act) can obtain the JuLeiCa. They have to be at least 16 years old and qualified for their work after defined standards.
Youth leaders are engaged:
- week by week in their youth group
- within the organization of concerts and festivals
- as teamers for seminars
- in youth centres and communal iitiatives
- as tutors of holiday camps
They are the voice of the interests of children and youths and stand for the issues of the young generation. They are prepared for their exciting and responsible tasks.
So young persons own a qualification that is unique in relation to other fields of honorary work. The learned soft skills are not only important in youth work. Also entrepreneurs set value on this precious additional qualification.
