Every year several thousand youths participate in programs of extracurricular international youth work such as sports, theatre or music camps, voluntary services, internships, job shadowing and other sorts of activities. Here they acquire lingual, intercultural or social competences which are also central for their own job-related and personal development.
Often young people are not completely aware of the capabilities they have because they are not acquired in the formal way. They are communicated and learned in non-formal settings. On the other hand such competences are demanded more and more by society and economy.
At this point the certifications international start. They document the participation, the engagement and the displayed competences of youths. With different accentuation it is possible in three designs:
